About the Center

Machine learning at UC Irvine

The Center for Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems develops the algorithms that let computers learn from data to reason, predict, and act. That work draws on computer science, statistics, informatics, and mathematics, with applications ranging from vision and language to genomics, physics, climate, and the cognitive sciences.

Center members collaborate widely across UC Irvine and with partners in industry and government. The Center is also home to the UCI Machine Learning Repository, one of the most widely used collections of benchmark datasets in the field.

We host a weekly AI/ML seminar series featuring speakers from UC Irvine and around the world, and we train graduate students who go on to research and leadership roles in academia and industry.
